'HEY FUN BOYS! Ja, it's me, Lars and I'm here to give you all a wunderbar "hullo" from the totally "full on" Berlin clubworld und se weiter. I haf been researching this for two weeks now, mostally with a live and upload looking in all the netherworlds of the underbelly "you know". Und I feel confidence in saying to you and you all, that this is the Top Five "fandabbidozy" so here we go:
5. Finnebassen - 'It's Gonna Take A Long Time (Silly Pilly edit)': This hast been out since March (nearly as long as me!!!) but it's only just gaining your momentum. It's a slinky, slower paced number with a lot of singing - this means it sounds "proper" when you are reaching about early afternoon on a Sunday. A lot off people are forget that in Berlin, we don't really start going out till much later, say 1am say maybe 2am say 3am und se weither. So really when I am saying 'early afternoon' you shouldn't have the shock, it is just what you are used to. This song has a lot of whoosh which I like.
4. Crooked Man - 'Preset/Scum': Und so, this is a "fresh as a daisy"! I think it is not even release yet but I have heard it a few times already in a secret location. We haff a double A-side so that is "super" because it's two at once. I have a very good story about two at once but I will not tell you here, perhaps later, perhaps not - as your Miss Marple says, "we shall see". Preset is a very tribal number which sounds very gut when you are feeling tribal (for examples if you are being wet on). Scum is even better, it has much of a funky-beat and I think a message for us all. A man call Parrot make these record; I am afraid that in my research I do not have the answers to know why he calls himself those name. Perhaps you know?
2. Storm Queen - 'Let's Make Mistakes': I have had a very "sticky situation" for I must choose between two things I love, and say to one 'but I love you more' and to the other 'oh but I love you less'. This is like a mother and her children, yes? So I say to Storm Queen, I love you less. You are my number 2. I only feel I may say this to her (and she is, natürlich, a her) because she has been in my heart before - we must all be remembering 'It Goes On' - so here we are. This song has many, many good vocals and a reason to shout 'hey' not one time, and not two time but mit three times. Oh but "excuse me"! I have just counted again and it is four. If you are not as vocal as me (und I think my neighbours would sometimes wish I was not as vocal as me!) you will be "thrilled to bits" to learn there is a dub version.
1. Black Light Smoke - 'Lovework (DJ T remix)': And so it is to this that I say 'oh but I love you more'. For at first, it sounds like it may be 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)' which I will say I have another fine dance for. But then it is not that record, it is another. We in Berlin all have "nuff respect" for the Get Physical label but not one of us would expect them to produce anything any more, for it is not 2005 last time I checked! But then DJ T has appeared with this, which has many and many wonderful features including a good honking noise. In fact this takes me back to 2005, I lived in what you call a squat and I had such thing as a mohawk and a pierce in the nose. We listened to minimal and sometimes The Rapture, and I fell in love with a boy from Denmark who said he could never love me while capitalism still held sway and we agreed to part. I still think of him with much fondness. As the record is saying, he made a mess of my head.
Oh but please excuse me, I am "being silly". It has been a long week. So I will say "fond farewell" for now! "PEACED OUT"
